To request material through Interlibrary Loan, please fill out a request form:

• Interlibrary Loan Request form: UND students, faculty and staff living in Grand Forks or the surrounding area or COMING to campus regularly, please use this form. Serials Redesign/Document Delivery patrons also use this form.
    
• Distance Patron Request form: UND students, faculty and staff living outside Grand Forks or the surrounding area and not coming to campus regularly, please fill out this form and we will mail your requested material to you. Please allow extra time for mail delivery in your "need by date."
• Paper forms are also available at the Access Services Desk and at the Reference Desk or you can print out the form (a PDF file) and submit it.

Interlibrary loan is available to currently registered students (including Distance Education students), current and retired faculty, and current staff of the University of North Dakota. Students whose primary library is Harley E. French Library of the Health Sciences or Thormodsgard Law Library should contact them for services.

Most books, articles, and government documents not available from UND can be obtained from other libraries through interlibrary loan networks. You must allow at least ten working days for the material to arrive. Please check the ODIN campus Library catalog before ordering. You may not request items owned by the Chester Fritz Library or any other UND library unless they are missing from the collection or you are not currently living in Grand Forks or the surrounding area. You may not request textbooks.

Please allow a minimum of three days for requests to appear on your patron record. You can check the status of your request in the ODIN's My Account (log-in required). As a courtesy, we will attempt to notify you of the arrival of requested materials via phone, e-mail, or mail.

E-Mail

Certain articles may be delivered directly to the e-mail address a patron enters on the ILL form. The subject heading on these electronic deliveries will read -Your Interlibrary Loan material - followed by a seven-digit number. If you prefer not to have any articles delivered via e-mail, please use the check box on the ILL form.

Campus Mail

Photocopies can be delivered to departmental mail boxes upon request.

Pickup

All other interlibrary loan materials will be available for pick up at the Access Services Desk, 2nd floor of the Chester Fritz Library.
