About the Depository Program

The U.S. Government is the largest publisher in the world. It provides information on an amazing variety of topics in:

The UND Chester Fritz Library was designated a Federal Depository in 1890. Depository libraries make government distributed information available to the public free of charge.

UND and NDSU Joint Regional Depository

UND and NDSU have shared depository status since 1968.

• UND Depository Agencies  UND receives publications from these agencies; approximately 60% of the documents distributed
• NDSU Depository Agencies  NDSU receives publications from these agencies

Government Documents Exchange Lists

The University of North Dakota's Chester Fritz Library, in partnership with the Federal Depository Library Program, hosts the national Needs and Offers List. You can also view the Needs and Offers lists from this library:

• UND's Needs List  Government documents that UND wants to obtain from other libraries
• UND's Offers List  Government documents available to other depository libraries from UND.
