Approximately 100 students, both institutional
and work study, are employed by the Chester Fritz Library each year.
As the Library is a public service organization, students learn
various duties and procedures associated with library services.
Some of the student's responsibilities are shelving books, stack
maintenance, assisting patrons at the public service areas, assisting
in mailings, making deliveries to other University Libraries, answering
telephones, running errands and providing computer support. Students
must be motivated, pay attention to details, display excellent interpersonal
skills and be able to work either independently or in a team environment.

Minimum Salary: $45,000.00 plus/year
QUALIFICATIONS Required: Graduate degree from an accredited library school or other appropriate advanced degree with experience in a field relevant to library science, two years of relevant experience, and demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining web sites. Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of web authoring software, experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL and Javascript, experience with digital media technology and providing access to digitized audio and video, experience with linux server administration, knowledge of electronic and traditional information resources, experience working at a library reference desk, ability to work independently, and strong interpersonal skills.
