HISTORICAL SKETCH

The Grand Forks Federated Church was formed when the First Baptist Church and Plymouth Congregational Church merged. The First Baptist Church was founded on October 16, 1881, while the Plymouth Congregational Church was incorporated February 9, 1885. The two churches merged to form the Federated Church on August 7, 1945.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Grand Forks Federated Church Records consist of records of the Grand Forks Federated Church, as well as records from the two independent churches prior to the federation. Material includes correspondence, minutes, financial records, annual reports, memberships lists, articles of incorporation and federation, scrapbooks and newspaper clippings. The collection dates from 1887 to 1968 and consists of material in bound volumes, in addition to folders.
