BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Esther Bice was probably born near Paris, Iowa (Linn County), circa 1880. She is listed in the 1895 Iowa State Census as residing in Linn County. She probably married Perry Moles in either 1908 or 1909. The couple moved to Renville County, North Dakota, and took up residence in Eden Valley Township. The couple is listed as living in this township in both the United States Federal Census for 1920 and 1930. According to the book Renville County History, Esther Moles was still living in Renville County in 1954. This is the last reference to her that could be located; no record of a burial in Renville County was uncovered.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Esther Bice-Moles Correspondence dates from 1900-1908, and consists of letters she received from family members, friends, and acquaintances. Subjects discussed in the correspondence include women's fashions, the social lives of Moles and her friends, and family events. Letters from several of her suitors are also included.
