ACQUISITION: This addition to the John M. Hancock Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Bob and Frances Buckingham, Pharr, Texas, on July 1, 2002 (Acc.#2003-2605). Additional materials were added by the Department of Special Collections.

ACCESS: Available for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the John M. Hancock Papers consists of one copy of the February 1947 edition of Fortune magazine, which includes an article about John Hancock entitled “Mr. Hancock and the Bomb.” The article outlines Hancock’s history, especially in light of his service on the U.S. delegation to the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission. An additional five journal articles mentioning Hancock were added by the Department of Special Collections, following a search of the JSTOR database.
