ACQUISITION: This addition to the Sister Ellen Murphy Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Sister Ellen Murphy, St. Paul, Minnesota, December 29, 1993 (Acc.#93-1932).

ACCESS: Available for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Sister Ellen Murphy Papers dates from 1972-1993. The addition contains incoming letters and postcards written from family and friends to Sister Ellen. The letters address their families, political and personal concerns, work, Sister Ellen's poetry, and other personal details. The miscellaneous folder contains incoming letters from various people who wrote regarding a variety of subjects. Much of this folder contains Christmas cards, get well cards and postcards.

Also included in the addition are four folders of outgoing correspondence from Sister Ellen. The correspondence is addressed to Lois Slusser, a personal friend, Sister Mona, Sister Rosalie, and other fellow sisters, while Sister Ellen was in Italy, England, The Netherlands, Ireland, and France.
