BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Little is known about Adelaide C. Okell. During the summer of 1898, she took her first trip to Europe. According to the General & Business Directory of the Boroughs of Manhattan & Bronx City of New York, in 1917 she was living on West 84th Street, and was employed as a pianist.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Adelaide C. Okell Diary records her first trip to Europe in the summer of 1898. Journal entries are dated June 10th through September 14th. The diary is handwritten in English, but is difficult to read. The diary is original, with most entries written in pen, and is 177 pages in length.
