INTRODUCTION

ACQUISITION: The addition to the Lillian Witmer Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Jean Meline, Macomb, Illinois, and by Mary Ellen Caldwell, Grand Forks, North Dakota, in September 1993 (Acc.#93-1914).

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Lillian Witmer Papers dates from 1923-1993, and consists of Witmer's 1923 Dacotah annual, memoirs regarding her education at the University of North Dakota, three Sigma Nu dance cards, and her funeral program and obituary.

Two oversize photographs were separated and placed in the Orin G. Libby Oversize Photograph Cabinet. One photograph depicts Synergoi, a campus fraternity, circa 1921. The second photograph is of the active members of Alpha Phi, Pi Chapter, 1922-1923. The names of all persons in both photographs were recorded on the back.
