SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the North Dakota Study Group Records dates from 1963-1986, and has been divided into two sections. The majority of the material relates to the Children's Thinking Seminar Group (CTSG). This group was made up of educators who were interested in discussing the ways in which children think and learn. Some members of the North Dakota Study Group attended these conferences.

The first section contains correspondence between Children's Thinking Seminar Group members and North Dakota Study Group members. The correspondence has been arranged by date.

The second section is comprised of materials directly related to the CTSG. Included are copies of "Notes and Commentary," the typed transcripts of CTSG conferences. Various accounts and reflections directly related to "Notes and Commentary", are also included. One such account was written by Kathe Jervis, a North Dakota Study Group member, and entitled "Things We Wrote About." This paper focused on the concerns of CTSG members on the processes of thought and teaching. One folder includes the first eight issues of the Children's Thinking Seminar Network Newsletter from 1979-1982. The second section also contains published and unpublished materials which were written by members of the Children's Thinking Seminar Group.
