SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the North Dakota Study Group Records consists of a transcript from the November 1972 meeting that evolved into the North Dakota Study Group (NDSG). The primary focus of the meeting was the discussion of educational standards, as well as the methods of assessing and evaluating student learning and performance. The formation of the NDSG was based on the participants’ perceived need for further discussion on these topics. The NDSG sought to apply what its members knew and believed about education, mostly stemming from an open and developmental approach, and apply it to methods currently in use in the educational field.
