INTRODUCTION

ACQUISITION: The UND Bowling Club Records were deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by the Student Organizations Center on June 14, 1999 (Acc.# 99-2329).

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

HISTORICAL SKETCH

The UND Bowling Club became an official university recognized and funded program in 1984. The club had existed on campus, however, since the 1960s. The club competed against other Midwestern colleges and universities and advanced to the National Collegiate Bowling Championships in 1984. The club disbanded in 1988.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The UND Bowling Club Records consist of meeting minutes, financial records, correspondence, bowling schedules and results, and rules from 1983-1988. Material related to the death of Loren Moch in 1986 is also included. Moch was a UND student and member of the bowling club. The material is divided chronologically.
