SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Mary Margaret French Frank Papers consists of fifteen pieces of correspondence sent and received by Frank, dating from 1926-1984. The main correspondent was Lucy Johnston Sypher, a North Dakota native and author of several children's books. Other correspondents included Dr. James Grassick, a pioneer physician in Grand Forks, UND President Thomas Clifford, and "Jessie," who appears to be a long time friend of Frank's. The identity of "Jessie" remains unknown, although the letter and envelope indicate that she lived in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
