This addition to the James Grassick Papers dates from 1935, 1941, and 1959. Included is an October 1935 speech delivered by Grassick to the (Grand Forks) Franklin Club. The speech was entitled John James Audubon, and was twelve pages in length. The speech discusses Audubons history, as well as his accomplishments in the field of ornithology.
The text and notes for a 1941 a speech about Dr. Grassick is also included. The speech was delivered by Rev. W. Murray Allan to the Franklin Club, and was entitled Grassick. Allan sketches Grassicks history, personality, and writings.
Also included is an October 1959 letter from the North Dakota Tuberculosis and Health Association to Dr. Harley E. French (the father of Mary Margaret Frank). The letter concerns the history of Camp Grassick, a summer camp for children stricken with tuberculosis. The letter also outlines Dr. Grassicks contributions to the group, which led to the camp being named in his honor.
An undated newspaper clipping from the Grand Forks Herald is also included. It states: It now appears that the ?honor of having figured in North Dakotas earliest known automobile wreck belongs to none other that Dr. James Grassick, Grand Forks veteran physician. The accident in question happened in 1909.
