INTRODUCTION

ACQUISITION: This addition to the Stella H. Fritzell Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by her daughter, Sara Hanhan, Grand Forks, North Dakota, on July 13, 1994 (Acc.#94-1988).

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Stella H. Fritzell Papers consists of subject files and photographs dating from 1959 to 1983. These papers have been arranged in the same five series as the original accession. Series I, Biographical Information, includes Fritzell's resume and a magazine article about her. Series II, Political Papers (the bulk of this addition), includes in-coming correspondence as well as materials related to abortion, lobbying, ND Constitutional Convention (1971-72), women in politics, and an organizational chart of ND state government. Series III, Conservation and Environment, includes correspondence and materials related to fish, wildlife, and environmental issues. Series IV, Speeches, contains a portion of the speech Fritzell gave to the graduating class of Cando High School as well as the graduation program (1974). Series V, Clubs, Committees, and Hobbies includes materials related to the ND Heart Association (1963-64), Trapshooting, and an art exhibit (1983). In addition, fifty-six pictures have been separated and placed in the Orin. G. Libby Photographic Collection.
