ACQUISITION: This addition to the Flickertail Girls State Records was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Dr. Ron Pynn, former chair of the Political Science Department at the University of North Dakota, August 25, 1993 (Acc.# 94-1939).

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

Two new folders were added to the eight already contained in Box 4. Folder Nine contains The Flickertail Girl State Fiftieth Annual Session Memory Book, 1947 - 1996. The Memory Book is an assemblage of the recollections of former Girl Staters and Dr. Pynn about the program; however, it only encompasses the years for which material was submitted for publication by former Girl Staters. Folder Ten contains correspondence from Mary MacGregor Mather, a 1950 attendee of the Girls State/Nation program. In her letter, Mrs. Mather reminisces about her 1950 involvement in the program: she also includes in her letter a brief biographical sketch of her life after Girls State and how the experience of attending the program has impacted her political/social views.
