The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Grand Forks was granted its charter November 18, 1963. The organization's suggested statement of purpose was to bring religious liberals together and to further the principles of Unitarianism and Universalism.
At the end of its first year, the fellowship had 15 members who had signed the By-Laws. There were separate programs for children and adults. The early adult meetings consisted of taped sermons borrowed from the Fargo-Moorhead Fellowship and the Beacon Street Fellowship Extension Office.
Later meetings, planned by the group, consisted of discussions and speeches by guest speakers on subjects such as the definition of Unitarianism, religions, and philosophies.
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Grand Forks Records date from 1961-1975 and contain the organization's constitution, the charter, minutes of meetings, correspondence 1961-1975, membership mailing lists, newsletters 1961-1974, organizational newspapers 1974-1975, financial records 1963-1974, and miscellaneous material.
