ACQUISITION: This addition to the Harry Nyquist Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by Amanda Hvidsten, UND Alumni Association, on January 5, 2004 (Acc. #2004-2668).

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Harry Nyquist Papers dates from 2003, and consists of a 36 page booklet produced in Nyquist's honor by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. Entitled A Tribute to the Memory of an Outstanding Scientist: Harry Nyquist (1889-1976), the tract was written by Karl Johan Åström, and was presented at the group's 2003 Annual Meeting. The booklet traces Nyquist's history from his birth and upbringing in Sweden, to his time as a student at UND, to his long career as a scientist. While much of the booklet is biographical, Nyquist's scientific contributions are also discussed.
