INTRODUCTION

ACQUISITION: This addition to the President's Office Records- Presidential Search Committee was deposited in University Archives by Sara Hanhan, UND Center for Teaching and Learning, on April 29, 1999 and by Lori Hofland, UND Graduate School, on May 24, 1999.  The 1992 material was deposited by Sara Hanhan, while Lori Hofland deposited the 1999 material.

 

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the President's Office Records- Presidential Search Committee consists of material related to the 1992 and 1999 search for a President of the University of North Dakota.  These searches lead to the hiring of Kendall Baker in 1992, and Charles Kupchella in 1999.

The majority of the material consists of individual applicants for the Presidency.  Also included are materials relating to the Search Committee, such as meeting minutes, budgetary materials, advertising, and correspondence.  Twenty six audio cassette tapes were separated and added to the audio tape collection.  The tapes record telephone and on campus interviews of candidates from the 1999 search.
