ACQUISITION: The President’s Office Records, Presidential Search Committee was deposited into University Archives, likely by the Presidents Office.

 

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The President's Office Records- Presidential Search Committee consists of material related to the 1970 search for a President of the University of North Dakota.  This search lead to the hiring of Thomas Clifford in 1970.

The majority of the material consists of individual applicants for the Presidency and their corresponding files.  Files include letters of nomination, acceptance, and rejection, character references, telephone conversation transcripts, journal publications or articles written by the candidates, vitas and biographies.  Also included in the miscellaneous files are materials relating to the Search Committee, such as meeting minutes, interview times and dates, faculty impressions of candidates, miscellaneous correspondence, and ballots.
