ACQUISITION: This addition to the President's Office Records was deposited into University Archives by Pat Bohnet, Office of the President, on March 12, 2003 (RCN 2003-345).

ACCESS: Available for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the President's Office Records date from 1984-1999, and consists of records from the former UND Witmer Art Gallery. The principle focus of the art gallery was to promote and display the work of local artists. The UND Witmer Art Gallery was located at 2920 5th Avenue North in a house that was once owned by the former Dean of Arts and Sciences, Robert Witmer. Material in this collection has been divided into two groups. The artist files consist of sales records, art descriptions, and artist information. These files document the time that the artist had work in the gallery and the sales of this work. Office files include correspondence, art competition information, sales ledgers, and newsletters. These files help document the administrative history of the UND Witmer Art Gallery.
