ACQUISITION: This addition to the Quentin Burdick Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by friends of Quentin Burdick in September 1992.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Quentin Burdick Papers consists of newspaper articles regarding his death on September 8, 1992, in Fargo, North Dakota. The articles also report the temporary appointment of his widow, Jocelyn, to replace him in the United States Senate until a special election could be held. The newspapers include the Bismarck Tribune, Fargo Forum, Grand Forks Herald, Minot Daily News, the Dakota Student (student newspaper at the University of North Dakota), and the Spectrum (student newspaper at North Dakota State University).
